CTQ Engineer

Job description

• CTQ requirements & scorecard governance Interpret the current customer CTQ Tracker, clauses 4.1.1–4.3.1; map each rating criterion (0–5) to required controls and objective evidence. Maintain model-level scores, site summaries, assumptions and revision control.
• Internal assessment & customer readiness Plan and perform periodic self-assessments and shop-floor verification across all applicable products and lines. Identify nonconformities, score conservatively against item-specific criteria, substantiate ratings and reconcile differences raised by customer auditors.
• PFMEA and control-plan integrity Verify micro-process mapping, risk identification, PFMEA/AP decisions, preventive/detection controls, reverse PFMEA where applicable, and alignment among PFMEA, Control Plan, SOP/work instructions and actual execution.
• Error proofing and prevention Drive manufacturing error-proofing coverage, validation, maintenance and failure-response controls; assess enterprise-level prevention processes included in the customer tracker and close systemic gaps.
• MSA, SPC and process capability Verify measurement-system suitability, MSA study results, control-chart implementation and reaction plans, as well as Ppk/Cpk monitoring for critical characteristics; ensure out-of-control or low-capability conditions trigger action.
• Best Process Model (BPM) Coordinate deployment, verification and evidence retention for applicable Best Process Models under clause 4.3.1; track implementation by model and verify sustained effectiveness.
• Cross-functional improvement leadership Lead improvement projects involving Production, PE, TE, ME, QA and other owners. Define actions, owners, due dates and escalation; validate closure effectiveness and prevent recurrence.
• Reporting and performance linkage Provide periodic CTQ score trends, model/line gap analysis, action status and customer-review materials; connect control maturity with DPPM, yield, escapes and process-capability outcomes.

Job Purpose

Own the deployment, verification and continuous improvement of customer-defined CTQ requirements across all mass-production products and lines. Maintain evidence-based internal assessments using the customer CTQ Tracker, align self-assessment with customer verification, and translate compliance gaps into measurable improvements in manufacturing quality. Authority & Accountability Authorized to initiate and lead cross-functional CTQ projects, request supporting evidence, conduct on-site assessments, convene reviews and escalate overdue or systemic issues.

Functional process owners retain responsibility for executing their controls and corrective actions; CTQ Engineer is accountable for governance, verification, tracking and escalation
