Senior CAD Design Specialist - SolidWorks & Plastic Injection Molding

Job description

As a Sr Advanced CAD Specialist here at Honeywell, you will provide advanced CAD expertise, support engineering teams, and drive innovation in design processes. Your work will ensure high-quality, efficient product development. You will report directly to our Engineering Supervisor and you’ll work out of our Mexico City location on a Hybrid work schedule. In this role, you will impact the product development process by providing high-quality CAD designs that enhance product performance and manufacturability, ultimately contributing to customer satisfaction and business success.

Responsibilities

Create and maintain detailed CAD models and drawings for complex components and assemblies. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define design requirements and ensure alignment with project goals. Review and analyze designs for feasibility and compliance with regulations, standards, and client requirements. Assist in the preparation of project documentation, including reports, specifications, and cost estimates. Mentor junior CAD Designers, providing guidance and support in design processes and software use.

Qualifications

MUST HAVE Bachelor’s degree from in Mechanical Engineering, Design, or a related field. Experience in Plastic Injection Molding Processes 5+ years of experience in CAD design and drafting. Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or CATIA. Experience in consumer electronics, automotive, or industrial hardware. Familiarity with regulatory compliance and testing. Passion for innovation and mentoring engineering talent.

Ensure designs meet regulatory standards (e.g., IEC, UL, RoHS). Implement design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for testability (DFT) principles. Strong understanding of engineering principles and design standards. Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality designs. WE VALUE Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
