As a software engineer, you will work on a specific project critical to Google’s needs with opportunities to switch teams and projects as you and our fast-paced business grow and evolve. We need our engineers to be versatile, display leadership qualities and be enthusiastic to take on new problems across the full-stack as we continue to push technology forward. Our products process and export data in the order of petabytes, and the scale of our systems represents a true Google scale.

We work with the standard Java web stack at Google, and your focus will be primarily on back-end infrastructure. In this role, you will be responsible for our next-generation data export platform for domain wide takeout and Google vault. You will lead designs across sub-teams, help standardize architectural patterns, and ensure consistency across boundaries. You will partner closely with Engineering Managers, Product Managers, and Tech Leads from Workspace Engineering teams (like Google Drive, Chat, and Gmail) to set technical direction, resolve architectural problems, and ensure predictable, high-quality execution.
