As a software engineer, you will work on a specific project critical to Google’s needs with opportunities to switch teams and projects as you and our fast-paced business grow and evolve. We need our engineers to be versatile, display leadership qualities and be enthusiastic to take on new problems across the full-stack as we continue to push technology forward. The AI and Data Protection team engineers maintain the high-throughput, high-availability inspection services that power Google's safety capabilities.

Our technology is fundamental to Cloud Sensitive Data Protection (Cloud SDP), Gmail/Chrome Enterprise/Google Drive's Data Loss Prevention (DLP) frameworks, AI (LLMs and Agents) inference safeguards with Model Armor, and a wide range of other Google offerings. We also perform storage scanning (GCS, BQ, etc), both thorough examination (reading every byte) and discovery (sampling records to create aggregate profiles). In this role, you will build the architecture, APIs, algorithms, and neural networks that provide fast, scalable classification and redaction of sensitive information and AI threat surfaces, both at runtime and at rest.
