As a software engineer, you will work on a specific project critical to Google’s needs with opportunities to switch teams and projects as you and our fast-paced business grow and evolve. We need our engineers to be versatile, display leadership qualities and be enthusiastic to take on new problems across the full-stack as we continue to push technology forward. Spanner combines the power and familiarity of relational databases with horizontal scalability typical of non-relational stores.

It is the first scalable, enterprise grade, globally distributed, and strongly consistent database service. The Spanner Analytics team's mission is to unify transactional and analytical workloads to allow real-time insights and a serving of operational and lakehouse data. We work closely with internal and external customers to ensure analytic queries scale and perform on exabytes of data. Key to success on the Spanner team are to be an effective collaborator and to balance learning with continued progress on deliverables.

You will learn about Spanner's query engine and collaborate with experts in the areas of storage, transaction processing, scheduling etc.
