We are seeking a hands-on UI Engineering Lead to shape and deliver the next generation of equities trading applications. This role combines frontend architecture, development, and technical leadership to create intuitive, high-performance trading workflows and a reusable UI platform supporting Equities Modernization.
Key Responsibilities
Own UI architecture and delivery for modern trading applications, including basket trading, order management, and real-time monitoring. Partner directly with traders, product owners, and backend engineers to translate complex workflows into intuitive user experiences. Build a shared foundation of reusable components, interaction patterns, and application services that reduces duplication across teams. Design responsive, data-intensive interfaces with real-time updates, high-volume grids, and clear handling of connection and application state.
Establish engineering standards for frontend performance, automated testing, accessibility, security, and production observability. Remain hands-on through coding, design reviews, troubleshooting, and delivery of critical capabilities. Mentor engineers and drive consistent engineering practices across applications and regions. Modernize legacy interfaces incrementally while maintaining business continuity.
Required Qualifications
Extensive experience delivering production frontend applications, with ownership of architecture and technical delivery. Deep expertise in TypeScript, JavaScript, React, HTML, and CSS, including component design and state management. Proven experience building complex, real-time, data-intensive user interfaces. Strong understanding of browser performance, rendering behavior, asynchronous processing, and frontend/backend integration.
Experience with streaming APIs, automated testing, CI/CD, and production diagnostics. Ability to work directly with business stakeholders and turn ambiguous requirements into practical solutions. Demonstrated technical leadership with a strong commitment to hands-on engineering.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in equities, electronic trading, OMS/EMS, or other front-office platforms. Familiarity with high-performance data grids, desktop interoperability, Deephaven and multi-window trading workflows. Experience building shared UI platforms or design systems adopted across multiple teams. Familiarity with Java or C++ backend environments and AI-assisted development practices. Primary Location Full Time Salary Range of $250,000 - $300,000. #LI-JR1
