Position Details

Pick up or deliver intermodal containers to and from area rails and customers. Rail yards include BNSF, NS, CSX, CPKC in Kansas City and St Louis areas. Markets include but are not limited to Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri, Kansas, Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska. Also, pickup containers at the rail to drop off at various customers within a 300 mile radius of Kansas City or Edgerton. Drivers run random, regional, intermodal freight to & from KC & Edgerton rail hubs. 75% of loads are Drop & Hook, 25% are live load/unload.

All No Touch freight.

Special Requirements

Drivers will run out of the Edgerton (Kansas City) MO and St. Louis rail yard. The main office is located @ 30700 W 191ST ST, Edgerton KS 66021 Drivers are required to take the tractor and empty container home or to a safe secure location for time off. Or have the ability to utilize one of our many J.B. Hunt facilities (Edgerton KS, Kansas City MO, St Louis MO, Lowell AR, Cedar Rapids IA) JB Hunt is a safety-first company and requires continuous training including Monthly Briefings, Quarterly Trainings, Situational Training and Smith System Recertification.

These training formats will be online, classroom, or on yard based. This position utilizes JB Hunts proprietary app “JB Hunt Drive” This app is necessary to the daily functions of the role and includes dispatch information, payroll details, safety tasks etc..

Additional Information

Each driver is assigned an on-site Transportation Manager to assist and support with daily needs including dispatching, payroll, compliance and general support. Operation is staffed 24/7. 100% automatic fleet, 90% Freightliner 100% Company Owned Assets (tractor, container, chassis) Geotab logging system Trucks have 1500W inverters. Passengers/pets are not permitted. Drivers will have 120 days to get Hazmat - account will reimburse with receipt.

All drivers are expected to represent the company and be in uniform while on duty. New hires are provided 3 JB Hunt Shirts during orientation week. Drivers are provided an annual allotment of $150 for uniforms.

Holiday Pay

Regional Intermodal drivers will receive 6 paid holidays for those who have completed one consecutive year of employment. Drivers will be paid a flat rate of $200 per day for holidays. Drivers must be active status (i.e. not on leave, suspension, or terminated). Drivers must be full time. Drivers may still be required to work on the holiday, depending on availability. Drivers must be available for dispatch the day before and after the holiday, if those days Drivers on this regional job will operate in a 300-mile radius of Kansas City, KS.
