Retail Manager - Full Time (Harrah's Laughlin)

Job description

Responsible for the planning, directing, organizing, and managing of all areas of the retail department. This includes Gift Shop, Convenience Store/gas station, Arcade, Admin Office, Retail Warehouse, and vendors. Demonstrates an entrepreneurial spirit while effectively managing within guidelines. Meets the attendance requirements of the job and adheres to departmental and company policies Other Duties as assigned by the Director.

Responsibilities

Maintain consistent, high quality service levels; supervise work units; develop employees, provides excellent service to guests; successfully markets products/services, develop, and implement retail concepts based on market research into a store operation. Develop and execute a product extension strategy, specifically to link casino design concepts into retail products. Analyze preference and buying trend information to determine product mix.

Excellent employee relation skills. Well-groomed appearance. Surveys and selects merchandise items that will generate sales. Seeks new sources of products, negotiates with vendors for most favorable terms. Manages inventory levels ensuring adequate turnover and minimal stock -outs. Control of labor costs. Provides adequate training and tools for employees. Effectively handles customer and employee complaints. Completes financial analysis of various products and monthly reports.

Enforces all policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Five to seven years retail experience required w/ 2 yrs. management experience, preferably in a retail environment. Health Card and Alcohol Awareness Card Lift up to 50 lbs. Push and pull up to 100 lbs. Must be able to bend, stoop, twist, reach, and hear. Dexterity to utilize tools. Walk entire shift. Stand for long periods of time or entire shift. Walk up and down stairs. Type. Work in hot temperatures.

Work in cold temperatures. Work in Secondhand smoke environment. Maneuver in confined spaces. Accurate Money/chip handling. Tolerate high noise areas. Will have guest contact. Work flexible schedules. Understand, read, write, and speak English.
