SALARY

$23.00/hr SCHEDULE : Part-Time, 3 days of availability (including nights and weekends) required WORK LOCATION: San Diego, CA (Miramar)

ROLE SUMMARY

The Cook is responsible for preparing a variety of food at the Chef’s discretion. The c ook is limited in scope of responsibility when compared to the kitchen operation as a whole . The cook may operate one or a select few pieces of kitchen cooking equipment (Flat Top, Grill, Saute , Salads, and Pantry ), and largely focuses on prepping items to be cooked . They p repare food items according to the recipes.

They m aintain a clean and sanitary work area . The Cook is a fast-paced position that’s essential for the kitchen to operate at the desired level . This position works under the direction of Kitchen Leadership.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Prepare and cook a variety of meats, seafood, poultry and vegetables using a variety of kitchen equipment and techniques . Know and comply consistently with portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies and procedures. Stock and maintain sufficient levels of food products at line stations to assure a smooth service for our guests. Maintain a clean and sanitary work station . Collaborate with other kitchen staff and management to maintain effective product flow.

Handle, store, and rotate all products properly . Assists in food prep assignments during off-peak periods as needed . Opens and closes the kitchen stations properly, assists others and follow ing checklists . Understands and follows proper rules of hygiene and food safety measures . Embraces and fulfills the core values and culture of Cutwater Spirits. Other duties as assigned . Working knowledge of food and beverage industry – back of house operations.

Ability to manage responsibilities in a high-demand, fast-paced working environment. Ability to operate all equipment in the kitchen . U nderstanding of food properties and cooking methods. Able to follow detailed recipes and verbal instructions. Ability to maintain a Food Handler’s certification. Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or equivalent required. 2+ years p rior restaurant kitchen experience (preferred) .
