Mechanical Engineer

Job description

We are seeking a driven and technically capable Mechanical Engineer to join our high-performing team at our award-winning underground, Aquila. As a walk-on, walk-off longwall mine, we offer the stability of an established operation combined with the opportunity to work on some of the industry's most critical mining equipment and infrastructure. Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent EEM, you will take a hands-on approach to engineering, working collaboratively with maintenance and operational teams to improve asset reliability, identify improvement opportunities, and ensure the safe and efficient delivery of production outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Providing mechanical engineering support across underground mining equipment and fixed plant assets Driving equipment reliability and maintenance improvement initiatives Managing asset integrity and engineering compliance activities Investigating equipment failures and implementing sustainable solutions Supporting longwall, development and outbye maintenance teams Leading and contributing to capital and improvement projects Collaborating with operational stakeholders to improve equipment performance, availability and safety Ensuring compliance with site standards, statutory requirements and engineering best practices

Qualifications

Degree qualification in Mechanical Engineering Experience within mining, heavy industry, manufacturing or resource operations

• Strong knowledge of maintenance and reliability principles
• Ability to analyse technical issues and develop practical solutions
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills SAP experience is advantageous Queensland mining experience will be highly regarded Exposure to underground coal operations, longwall systems, conveyors, fixed plant or mobile equipment is advantageous
