Job description

The Advanced Robotics Finance team seeks a Finance Manager to partner with the Engineering, Procurement and Accounting teams of the Advanced Robotics organization. The organization is a vertically integrated program spanning foundational AI, hardware engineering, procurement, and manufacturing at scale, with multi-billion-dollar capital investment and ambitious commercial milestones over the next three years.

This role will own financial strategy and governance for Advanced Robotics Capital Investment, drive capital optimization, controllership and provide early warning systems for supply chain disruption risks. The work will directly impact investment decisions, ensure financial discipline across long lead equipment, hardware & raw material procurement, inventory & working capital management, and also influence building appropriate tech tools and solutions for a vertically integrated program.

This is an opportunity to shape both the fixed and working capital management from inception rather than inherit one. The role will partner with engineering, equipment design, procurement, and operations leaders to model landed costs, govern purchase commitments, and optimize supplier relationships. The insights provided will influence make-vs-buy decisions, capital allocation, and risk mitigation strategies for our rapidly scaling robotics infrastructure. from day one.

The successful candidate will be comfortable operating with limited direction, deal with ambiguity, and partner with the aforementioned leaders with an entrepreneurial approach.

Key job responsibilities

1. Own the full capital governance lifecycle across sites including appropriation requests, capital project register, and Capital Work in Process (“CWIP”) to placed-in-service asset transition governance, depreciation schedules, and accurate recording of asset disposals.

2. Own long-lead equipment planning partnerships and associated financial governance, track commitments and financial exposure on equipment orders.

3. Own lease agreements, tenant improvement allowances, and real estate financial commitments across all sites, coordinating with legal, tax, and corporate real estate on multi-jurisdiction implications across Texas, California, Massachusetts, New York, and Washington.

5. Own raw material, WIP, and finished goods inventory financial oversight including min/max inventory level modeling, freight cost forecasting, and variance reporting against BOM logistics cost assumptions; coordinate with Amazon's existing fulfillment, logistics, and supply chain infrastructure.

7. Leverage AI and automate obsolescence/excess inventory risk flagging, landed cost models across a dynamic supplier base, purchase commitment exposure, and supplier financial health monitoring.
