Minimum qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. 15 years of experience in software engineering, systems architecture, or software security. 8 years of experience leading engineering teams and managing managers. Experience building distributed systems, security platforms, or cloud-native developer tooling.

Preferred qualifications

Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or Cybersecurity. Experience adapting SDLC paradigms for AI/LLM code generation and agentic automation. Strong leadership and communication skills to drive alignment across global organizations. Track record of building high-performing engineering teams at hyperscale tech companies. Expertise in Autonomous Security Posture Management (ASPM) and continuous verification. Solid background in cloud-native platforms, container runtimes, and AI-driven defense.

About the job As the Director of Security Software Engineering, you will build and scale a critical engineering organization at the forefront of securing modern cloud software ecosystems. You will define the overarching technical vision, strategy, and execution for autonomous security posture, next-generation secure software lifecycles, and cloud-native defense across Google Cloud. In this senior leadership role, you will combine deep software engineering and security architecture expertise with a passion for leading high-performing, multi-tiered engineering teams.
