Job Summary

We are seeking a Sr. Firmware Engineer to write firmware for our Coolant Distribution Unit real-time controller platform and assist with development on other Vertiv Linux-based platform(s). The candidate should possess broad and deep knowledge in various technologies such as networking, communications, kernel drivers, and security.

Responsibilities

Requirements analysis: Requirements gathering, use case analysis, device and application prototyping, customer/customer-liaison engagement.

Project management

Project planning, task estimation, software metrics collection, version control Full lifecycle software application development: Design, programming, debugging, peer review, unit testing, performance tuning, integration Documentation: Program commentary, user guides for service and troubleshooting Product testing: Unit testing, bench testing, system integration testing, and field test support Leadership: Effective team member and/or lead engineer, consistent positive attitude, creativity Hardware development support: Software support for hardware development and testing Other tasks and activities as required by management.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or foreign equivalent with strong emphasis on software: Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering
• 5+ years of experience in a firmware development role
• 3+ years of experience using the C/C++ programming language.

Expertise with software programming languages, frameworks, and subsystems including but not limited to: C++, C, JavaScript, Python Device drivers, networking, serial communications, real-time operating systems (RTOS), bare metal Infrastructure and application development experience using technologies and architectures such as: IP networking: TCP, UDP, TLS, DNS Serial communications: RS232/485, CAN, USB Protocols: ModBus, BACnet, SNMP, CANOpen, Redfish Platforms: ARM, x86, SoC Familiarity with software development environments and tools: Integrated platforms like CodeWarrior, Visual Studio Source code version control: Git CMake GNU Compiler and GDB IAR/Keil Compilers Debugging with ARM JTAG/SWD Additional, highly sought but not required.

Embedded systems experience with control applications. PLC programming experience HVAC experience CI/CD pipeline development
