We are looking for a Bank Cook and Kitchen Assistant to join our team at Cygnet Newton House. You will be working flexible bank shifts, to cover sickness, annual leave, training, and increased service needs.

Cygnet Newton House offers both a high support inpatient rehabilitation (level 2) service and community rehabilitation (level 1) service for men. The service is dedicated to providing a high quality environment for promoting long-term recovery. From admission, the team work with the men we support to maximise positive outcomes and recovery, while focusing on discharge plans to support them to move on to the least restrictive environment for them.

Our dedicated clinical team provide a multi-disciplinary input including occupational therapy, psychology, psychiatry and vocational training. Located 1 mile from Blackpool centre, Cygnet Newton House benefits from being close to plenty of amenities. There are good public transport links in the area with regular buses to the beach and other popular locations – the bus stop is just outside the service. Your Day-to-Day...

• Assist the team in the providing balanced, appetising meals
• Perform basic food preparation, cooking tasks & other kitchen duties
• Wash utensils, dishes & make sure they are stored appropriately
• Sort, store & distribute ingredients, check deliveries and assist with stock ordering
• Maintain personal hygiene and ensure the kitchen is clean & hygienic
• Handle, maintain & store kitchen equipment in accordance with Cygnet procedures
• Use chemicals in line with Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) regulations. You are...
• Passionate about catering, preferably with experience within a care setting
• Enthusiastic, keen to learn and an active team member
• Polite & professional, with a positive attitude at all times
• An excellent communicator who can liaise with people at all levels
• Able to work on your own initiative & under supervision
