We are seeking a PRN Adult Inpatient Psychiatrist to join a behavioral health hospital in Petersburg, Virginia. This independent contractor role offers flexible employment structure, and a fully staffed support team, allowing you to focus on delivering high-quality inpatient psychiatric care while leading a collaborative treatment team.

• Adult and Adolescent inpatient caseload (manageable, team-supported)

• Petersburg, VA (Richmond metro area)

Practice Setting

• Inpatient Behavioral Health Hospital (Adult, Military or Adolescent Unit)

Support / Care Team

• Psychiatrists, APPs, nursing staff, therapists, case managers Responsibilities Provide inpatient psychiatric care to adult and adolescent patients with mental health and substance use disorders
• Conduct admission evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans
• Lead multidisciplinary treatment teams to ensure coordinated care
• Manage patient care, including medication management and progress evaluations
• Collaborate with physicians, APPs, and clinical support staff
• Document patient care, treatment plans, and clinical updates

Compensation & Benefits

• Competitive per-contact contractor model Qualifications MD or DO from an accredited medical school
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry
• Active or eligible Virginia medical license
• Minimum of 4 years of training/practice experience
• Inpatient psychiatry experience preferred
