What awaits you

Kautex Detroit offers 3 DOL Registered apprentice tracks: Electrician, Machine Repair, and Machinist\.

Important information to know

• This is a 4\-year program mixed with on\-the\-job training \(OJT\) and classroom instruction at Macomb Community College
• Each apprentice is partnered with a journeyperson who is a subject matter expert in their field
• Apprentices will be paid for their full time OJT and Kautex will pay for their tuition to Macomb
• Each apprentice must take at least one class per semester
• Apprentices will become members of the UAW
• Apprentices will be Kautex employees and will be able to take advantage of available benefits \(medical, dental, vision, retirement, etc\.\)

Qualifications

What you'll need to succeed:

• Must be at least 18\-years\-old
• Must possess a valid driver's license
• Must possess a high school diploma, General Educational Development \(GED\) equivalency or other high school equivalency credential
• Must be able to pass a fit\-for\-duty physical and a drug screening
• Must be able to pass an aptitude test All qualified candidates will be interviewed by the Joint Apprentice Training Committee
