Job description

6 month minimum The Role This cell mechanism failure analysis intern will work on a team to help further understanding the mechanism and failure mode of fresh or aged lithium-ion cells through cell testing. They will develop test plans to evaluate battery performance, setup fixtures and test schedules, execute to the plan and report on the results.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Hand on the assembling and disassembling of lithium-ion cells and E-chem system.
• Work with air-sensitive materials using a glove box or in a dry room.
• Work on electrochemical testing, cell data processing and analysis of lithium-ion cells.
• Assist in the development of new characterization technologies for cells and electrodes.
• Participate in the installation, debugging and maintenance of laboratory equipment.

REQUIREMENTS

MUST

• Major in Chemistry/electrochemistry of M.S. degree.
• Experience with research which related to lithium batteries.
• Strong data processing and analysis ability.
• Knowledge of electrical test equipment used in battery cell testing or equivalent
• Solid basic theoretical knowledge of batteries.
• Ability to learn new concepts and methods, propose design of experiments, and execute independently.
• Strong hands-on ability.
• Proficient in English and Mandarin.

PREFERED

• Previous internship in battery or automotive will be a plus. This job application may involve an interview with an interviewer outside of Tesla China.
