Employee Transport Operations Specialist

Job description

An Employee Transport Operations Specialist manages daily employee commuting, optimizing routes, ensuring safety compliance, and overseeing vendor performance (cabs/buses). They handle rostering, resolve transport issues, manage budgets, and use technology to improve efficiency. Key requirements include 2–5 years of experience, strong communication, and proficiency in transport management systems.

Operations Management

• Develop and execute employee transportation strategies, including route optimization for efficiency.

Vendor Management

• Monitor vendor performance, negotiate contracts, and ensure adherence to service level agreements (SLAs).

Safety & Compliance

• Ensure all vehicles and drivers comply with safety regulations, company policies, and statutory norms.

Rostering & Scheduling

• Coordinate daily transport schedules, shift timings, and ad-hoc booking requests.

Data Analysis

• Use transportation management systems (TMS) or ERPs to analyze metrics, identify bottlenecks, and improve operational performance.

Issue Resolution

• Act as the primary contact for resolving employee complaints, vendor issues, and emergencies.

Reporting

• Prepare reports on transportation costs, utilization rates, and service quality.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in transportation, logistics, or employee transportation services.
• Proficiency in Transportation Management Systems (TMS), ERP tools, and MS Excel.

Soft Skills
