Job Description

The SbD Security Subject Matter Expert (SME) plays a critical role in embedding security into the design and delivery of business initiatives. This role is responsible for identifying, defining, and implementing security requirements throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring that security is integrated from the outset and aligned with enterprise objectives. Working closely with architects, engineers, project teams, and the broader security function, the SbD Security SME supports the delivery of secure solutions by translating business needs and compliance obligations into actionable security designs and controls.

The role is accountable for executing both the Design and Implementation phases of the SbD iteration, ensuring that security risks are identified early and addressed effectively. Key responsibilities include conducting security assessments, identifying design and implementation gaps, selecting and integrating appropriate security mechanisms, and contributing to the development of reusable security blueprints. The SME also plays a key role in enhancing the organisation’s security posture by escalating systemic capability gaps and supporting assurance activities.
