Consultant - Job Description Role

SAP TM Consultant

Job Summary

We are looking for an SAP Transportation Management (SAP TM) Consultant to design, implement, and support transportation and logistics solutions. The consultant will work closely with business stakeholders to optimize freight planning, carrier selection, transportation execution, and logistics processes using SAP TM.

Key Responsibilities

Analyze business requirements and provide SAP TM solutions for transportation and logistics processes.

Configure and support SAP TM functionalities including

Freight Order Management Freight Booking Transportation Planning Carrier Selection Freight Settlement Charge Management Transportation Execution Design and implement transportation planning and optimization solutions. Integrate SAP TM with SAP S/4HANA, EWM, MM, SD, GTS, and external logistics systems. Configure master data including transportation lanes, locations, business partners, and carriers. Support end-to-end implementation, testing, deployment, and production support activities.

Conduct system integration testing (SIT), user acceptance testing (UAT), and defect resolution. Prepare functional specifications and collaborate with technical teams for developments and enhancements. Monitor and improve transportation processes, freight cost management, and logistics performance.

Required Skills

Strong knowledge of SAP TM processes and configuration. Experience in Freight Planning, Freight Settlement, and Transportation Execution. Knowledge of logistics, supply chain, and transportation operations. Experience integrating SAP TM with SAP EWM, SAP ERP/S4HANA, and third-party logistics systems. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills. Ability to work with business users and cross-functional teams.

Preferred Skills

Experience with SAP S/4HANA Transportation Management. Knowledge of SAP EWM and Supply Chain Management (SCM). Exposure to Fiori applications and SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP). ABAP debugging knowledge is an added advantage. Experience in global transportation and freight management projects.
