Shift Mechanical Technician

Job description

Subsidiary Steel Dynamics Responsibilities Rotating shift work including nights and weekends Welding, cutting and fabrication

• Maintain all mechanical systems related to the rolling process
• Troubleshoot and repair of high-pressure hydraulic systems Rigging, crane and mobile equipment operation Read and interpret blueprints and piping diagrams Personal tools required to perform routine maintenance and repair
• Work with operations and maintenance groups to ensure continued production
• Work with computer-based maintenance systems

Qualifications Required Safety Oriented

• High School diploma or equivalent Prior mechanical maintenance experience in some or all of the following areas: Welding & fabricating, Industrial hydraulics, pneumatics, manual & automatic lubrication systems, Water systems, pipe fitting, Rigging, Bearing & coupling replacement, Ability to read prints & schematics.
• Strong willingness to learn Understanding of physics (heat transfer, fluid flow, force and power transmission) Understanding of mathematics (geometry, trigonometry) Willingness to work scheduled and non-scheduled overtime
• Strong teamwork focus
• Ability to work without direct supervision
• Ability to multi-task & prioritize work assignments with production needs Preferred At least two years experience in industrial maintenance Steel Dynamics, Inc., and all affiliated entities are equal opportunity employers.
