Legal Intern

Job description

The Legal Intern is responsible for providing legal assistance and advice in support of GeoUnit operations, under the supervision of the GeoUnit Legal Counsel. Handle day-to-day commercial contracts, contract disputes and corporate matters (e.g. registry filings, POA, etc). Interact with GeoUnit support functions and departments, ensuring involvement of Legal in all matters that may have a legal impact on SLB . Provide legal support to Operations to ensure compliance with local regulations and SLB Code of Conduct, including operations assurance reviews.

Assists Legal Counsel to implement procedures, practices, guidelines and templates. Collaborate with Legal Counsel in litigation management. Assists Legal Counsel in managing and supervising outside counsel. Participate in department training and development initiatives and complete assigned training. Moderate involvement in business unit planning and operations as part of the management team. Supervise and coach Administrative Assistant, where applicable.

Participate in strategic initiatives. Use and contribute to the Law Hub and help maintain the GeoUnit Legal intranet page. LLB and LEC Admitted to practice as an Attorney-at-Law in Suriname At least one (1) year working experience in a firm or In-House. Oil & Gas Industry experience considered and asset Advanced proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Excellent verbal and written communication skills Good analytical and critical thinking skills Must be detail-oriented and demonstrate excellent administrative and organizational skills Confidential, mature and adept at managing complex issues SLB is an equal employment opportunity employer.
