Chief Specialist – Acceleration Asset Ramp-up Reporting To: Director, Technology Development Business Unit / Function: Technology & Innovation Department: Technology Enablement Grade: M13 Why This Role Matters The Chief Specialist – Acceleration Asset Ramp-up exists to help Ma’aden bring mining and processing assets to stable, productive operation faster. The role connects technology, operational expertise, data and analytics to address the constraints that slow commissioning, stabilization and early operational performance.

The role creates value by identifying the highest-impact opportunities across throughput, recovery, uptime, cost and production readiness, then translating them into practical interventions that accelerate performance improvement. It provides an enterprise perspective across assets, enabling successful approaches to be reused rather than solved independently at each operation. Working across Operations, Technology & Innovation, Data & AI and project stakeholders, the role strengthens the transition from commissioning to reliable operations and embeds repeatable approaches that improve the performance of future asset ramp-ups.

What You Will Deliver Asset Ramp-up & Performance Shape and embed an enterprise approach to asset ramp-up that shortens the path from commissioning to stable operations across mining and processing assets. Identify and activate the critical throughput, recovery, uptime, cost and readiness levers that accelerate early-stage asset performance. Diagnose systemic ramp-up constraints and enable focused interventions that address root causes and protect production value.

Value Realization Translate ramp-up opportunities into measurable value hypotheses, performance targets and interventions with clear ownership and benefit tracking. Drive sustained improvements in ramp-up speed, asset utilization and operational readiness through fact-based performance management. Provide actionable insights that enable leadership to prioritize interventions and investments against the areas of greatest operational value.

Digital & Analytics Enablement Accelerate the application of advanced analytics, digital twins and predictive capabilities where they improve commissioning, stabilization and ramp-up decisions. Embed relevant digital capabilities into operational workflows to strengthen real-time visibility, decision quality and performance management. Enable repeatable ramp-up use cases to scale across assets in partnership with technology, data and solution teams.

Enterprise Execution & Governance Orchestrate alignment across Operations, Technology & Innovation, Data & AI, projects and commissioning stakeholders to resolve cross-functional dependencies and barriers. Establish consistent governance, performance measures and executive-level visibility across priority ramp-up initiatives. Strengthen the transition between project, commissioning and operational teams through clear performance expectations and integrated execution.

Standards & Organizational Capability Develop and embed scalable ramp-up playbooks, tools and practices appropriate to different asset classes and operating environments. Convert lessons from asset ramp-ups into reusable organizational knowledge that improves subsequent commissioning and stabilization. Build organizational capability through technical coaching, knowledge transfer and adoption of proven ramp-up practices.

What Success Looks Like Reduced time from commissioning to stable and targeted operating performance. Improved throughput, recovery, uptime and asset utilization during ramp-up. Measurable value realized from prioritized digital, analytics and operational interventions. Reduced recurrence of ramp-up constraints through effective root-cause resolution and reuse of lessons learned. Increased adoption of standardized ramp-up methods, playbooks and proven use cases across applicable assets.

Stronger visibility of ramp-up performance, risks and value realization to enable faster management decisions.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mining, Metallurgy, Industrial Engineering or a related discipline. Master’s degree in a relevant discipline is advantageous.

Experience

12–15+ years of relevant experience in mining, mineral processing or comparable heavy industry environments. Significant exposure to asset commissioning, operational ramp-up, stabilization and performance improvement. Experience delivering operational value through digital, analytics or technology-enabled improvement initiatives. Experience working across multidisciplinary operational, technical, project and technology stakeholders.
