Vehicle Dynamics Modelling Engineer – Hybrid & Electric Vehicles

Job description

We are looking for a Vehicle Dynamics Modelling Engineer with a strong interest in modelling, simulation and control of modern vehicle systems. You will develop and use vehicle models to support the design, development and validation of hybrid and electric vehicles.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain vehicle dynamics and powertrain models for hybrid and electric vehicles. Model vehicle longitudinal, lateral and, where relevant, vertical dynamics. Develop models for electric motors, batteries, transmissions and range-extender systems. Analyse vehicle performance, energy consumption, efficiency and drivability. Define and execute simulation scenarios for vehicle-level development and validation. Support the development and validation of vehicle control strategies.

Use simulation to investigate system behaviour and support root-cause analysis. Collaborate with vehicle, powertrain, controls, embedded software and test engineers. Contribute to model-based development and automated simulation/test environments.
