Overview

We're seeking a Senior/Lead Application Support Engineer (Java & SQL) to provide L1/L2 production support for a portfolio of business-critical enterprise applications. This role focuses on incident resolution, root-cause analysis, production monitoring, SQL-based investigations, application troubleshooting, integration support, and release validation across complex distributed systems. The ideal candidate has strong experience supporting Java-based applications in production environments, troubleshooting integrations and data issues, and collaborating with business and engineering teams to maintain system stability and service levels.

This role is open to candidates at either the Senior or Lead level, depending on experience and overall alignment with the role's requirements. The final level will be determined based on the candidate's experience and technical expertise.

Responsibilities

Your Impact Monitor application health, batch jobs, integrations, and scheduled processes across enterprise platforms. Investigate and resolve production incidents within agreed SLAs. Perform root-cause analysis and implement sustainable solutions for recurring issues. Analyze application logs, interfaces, APIs, and database transactions to identify failures and data inconsistencies. Execute advanced SQL investigations, data reconciliation, and validation activities.

Support production releases, deployment validation, smoke testing, and post-release verification. Collaborate with developers, infrastructure teams, and business stakeholders to restore services and improve operational stability. Create and maintain operational runbooks, knowledge articles, and troubleshooting documentation.

Qualifications

Skills & Experience (Must Have) Candidates should demonstrate most or all of the following: Application Production Support 6-8+ years of experience supporting enterprise applications in production environments. Strong experience in L1/L2 support, incident management, problem management, and root-cause analysis. Java Support Engineering Hands-on experience supporting Java-based applications. Experience troubleshooting Java, Spring Framework, REST services, application logs, exceptions, and backend processes.

Ability to read and debug Java/Spring code; experience implementing minor code fixes is a strong plus.

SQL & Data Investigation Strong SQL skills including

Complex query development Data validation Data reconciliation Stored procedures Performance analysis Production data troubleshooting Integrations & APIs Experience supporting REST APIs and enterprise integrations. Troubleshooting data synchronization, interface failures, batch processing, and file-based integrations. Monitoring & Observability Hands-on experience with at least one enterprise monitoring platform such as: Splunk Dynatrace AppDynamics New Relic IT Service Management Experience working within ITIL-based support organizations.

ServiceNow, Jira, incident management, change management, and SLA-driven support processes. Automation & Scripting Basic scripting experience using Shell, Bash, SQL automation, or related operational tooling. Ramp-Up Skills (Not Required) Experience with any of the following platforms is considered advantageous but is not required: Salesforce (Sales Cloud or Service Cloud) Salesforce integrations Incentive Compensation Management (ICM) platforms SalesConnect Sales Data Mart Data Warehouse support environments ETL platforms such as Informatica Power BI or Tableau Azure DevOps Kafka MQ Financial Services or Asset Management platforms This is a long-term, full-time (Indefinite) contract with a flexible work model.
