Intern - AI and Search

This is a 6-month internship , expected to start around 15 February 2027. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience at the intersection of content, search, and artificial intelligence. As an AI and Search Intern , you will support the AI and Search Manager in improving how corporate content is discovered, understood, and surfaced across traditional search engines and AI-powered platforms.

This role combines writing, research, creativity, and analysis, providing practical experience in SEO, content optimization, and emerging AI search technologies.

Your Day-to-Day You will: Conduct keyword, audience, topic, and competitor research to understand what people are searching for, the questions they are asking, and where content opportunities exist. Review and improve website content for search, including copy, metadata, headings, internal links, and content structure. Identify opportunities to create, update, rewrite, or expand content based on search behavior, user needs, and emerging topics.

Analyze search results and AI-generated answers to understand how topics and organizations are represented online. Research developments in traditional and AI-powered search and translate findings into clear, actionable recommendations. Support reviews of website and search performance to identify optimization opportunities and evaluate the impact of improvements. Maintain research and implementation trackers while coordinating follow-up actions with content, analytics, and web teams.

Who We're Looking For You are currently studying towards a degree in Communications, Journalism, English, Marketing, Media, Digital Communications, or a related field, or can demonstrate equivalent relevant experience.

You also bring

Excellent writing and editing skills, with the ability to communicate complex topics clearly and concisely. Strong research and analytical capabilities, including comparing sources and summarizing findings. A digital-first mindset and understanding that writing for the web differs from academic or traditional publishing. Strong attention to detail, particularly when working with metadata, links, headings, URLs, and content quality checks.

Curiosity about how people search for and discover information online. Critical thinking skills and the ability to assess why certain search or AI-generated results appear. Interest in search engines, generative AI, and emerging digital technologies. Confidence using AI-powered tools and applications. The ability to turn research insights into practical recommendations. Things to Know Before You Apply If you have been in your current role for less than 18 months, or are currently on a Performance Improvement Program, approval from your manager is required before applying.
