Job description

Leidos is seeking an AFSIM Modeling and Simulation Engineer with an active TS/SCI at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. This role combines strong technical expertise with excellent collaboration skills, working alongside government personnel, contractors, and a team of engineers and scientists to solve complex challenges involving highly advanced systems.

Primary Responsibilities

Develop and integrate system models (satellites, radars, aircraft, missiles, command & control) into a large-scale, many-on-many AFSIM simulation environment. Collaborate closely with a small, cross-functional team of government and contractor staff. Create AFSIM representations of space and ground systems for AF/DoD use, applying engineering judgment to address intelligence gaps and accurately model real-world systems.

Utilize CI/CD tools to test and evaluate AFSIM models prior to delivery. Prepare documentation, analytic reports, and multimedia products to support mission objectives.

Basic Qualifications

Active TS/SCI clearance Bachelor’s degree in CS, CE, EE, or related field with 8+ years of experience; OR Master’s degree with 6+ years of experience. Equivalent experience, training, or certifications may be accepted in place of a degree. Proficiency in C++ and Modeling & Simulation (M&S) techniques. Experience with CMake and Visual Studio for building and compiling AFSIM extensions and plug-ins. Experience with AFSIM (Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration, and Modeling), including extensions and plug-ins.

Strong English-language writing and briefing skills. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to thrive in a highly technical, collaborative environment. Ability to work independently under tight deadlines in a mixed government-contractor setting.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in CS, CE, EE, or related field. Prior experience at WPAFB, working with Intelligence Community models and all-source analysis. Familiarity with radars, aircraft, missiles, space vehicles, and tools such as MATLAB, Simulink, and Simulink Coder. If you're looking for comfort, keep scrolling.
