Procurement Engineer

Job description

To lead and manage the end-to-end procurement activities, ensuring timely availability of materials, equipment, services, while maintaining compliance with project specifications, budgets, quality standards, and contractual requirements.Procurement ManagementDevelop and implement project procurement strategies aligned with project schedules and budgets.Manage procurement of civil, mechanical, electrical, and hydro-mechanical equipment and materials.Ensure timely sourcing, evaluation, and selection of qualified suppliers and contractors.Lead RFQ, tendering, bid evaluation, negotiation, and award processes.Vendor & Supplier

ManagementDevelop and maintain a reliable vendor database.Conduct vendor assessments, qualification, and performance evaluations.Negotiate commercial terms, pricing, delivery schedules, and contractual conditions.Project CoordinationWork closely with engineering, planning, construction, and store teams to identify procurement requirements.Track critical procurement milestones and ensure alignment with project schedules.Monitor supplier manufacturing, inspections, dispatches, and deliveries.Logistics & Supply

Chain ManagementOversee transportation, customs clearance (if applicable), and site delivery of equipment and materials.Ensure uninterrupted material flow to project sites.Optimize inventory levels and minimize material shortages.Cost Control & Budget ManagementPrepare procurement budgets and forecasts.Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives.Monitor procurement expenditures against approved budgets.Prepare procurement reports and management dashboards.Risk ManagementIdentify procurement risks and develop mitigation plans.Manage supplier performance risks, delivery delays, and market fluctuations.Ensure business continuity through alternate sourcing strategies.Compliance & GovernanceEnsure adherence to company procurement policies and procedures.Maintain compliance with project, statutory, safety, environmental, and quality requirements.Support internal and external audits related to procurement activities.
