UPW / WWT Design (Semiconductor)

Job description

Responsible for the process design, engineering, and optimization of Ultra-Pure Water (UPW) and Wastewater Treatment (WWT) systems for large-scale semiconductor manufacturing facilities. Develop and review Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), process calculations, hydraulic analyses, mass balance calculations, equipment sizing, and detailed technical specifications to ensure system performance and compliance with stringent semiconductor industry requirements.

Evaluate and select process equipment such as pumps, tanks, filters, membranes, ion exchange systems, and chemical dosing units. Coordinate closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams, including mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, piping, civil, and project management groups, to ensure seamless integration of water and wastewater systems into overall plant infrastructure. Participate in design reviews, technical discussions, vendor evaluations, and commissioning support activities.

Ensure adherence to project specifications, environmental regulations, safety standards, and water quality requirements while driving process reliability, operational efficiency, sustainability, and cost-effective engineering solutions throughout the project lifecycle.
