Job description

Role

• Design and development of automation projects in Heavy Manufacturing Industry.
• Support IoT, Digitalisation and Digital Transformation projects.
• Control Panel design & System Integration, PLC Programming/ Application Development for industrial automation projects.
• Commissioning, training, preparation of operational and maintenance manual for hand-over.

Mandatory Skills

• Types of industrial processes and their control mechanisms.

EPD

• Electrical (LT) Panel Designing & Industrial Panel wiring.
• Electrical drafting using CAD software.
• PLC selection, installation, and wiring.
• Knowledge of various sensors available in market – Positional, Flow, Temperature, Pressure, Level etc
• Selection and interfacing of actuators like – relays, contactors, solenoid, servo motors/ stepper motors suiting to the application.
• Fundamentals of AC variable frequency drives, parameter settings, open loop and close loop controls.
• Selection, installation, wiring, and parameter setting of AC servo drives.

Industrial safety and related devices

• Human as well as Machine safety devices.
• Thorough hands-on experience on PLC programming especially in the following areas: Basic instructions | Data handling | Analog signal processing | Interrupts| HSC | PTO | PID Instructions | Interfacing using IO lines | Debugging techniques. [Know how of Mitsubishi with GX Works would be preferred]
• Know-how on creating new HMI program, tag generation, UI development, HMI communication and protocols.
• Possess know-how of relevant National and International standards.
• Basics of SCADA, creating new SCADA applications, tag generation, UI development, SCADA communication and protocols.
• Ability to Troubleshoot problem in challenging shop-floor environment.
• Good communication and interpersonal & leadership skills, Innovative mindset, time management and project planning / execution skills and basics of estimation and costing Preferable Skills:
• Automation and IIoT interfacing using SoC based controllers, SBCs and advanced sensors.
• Basics of data science, digitalisation, and digital transformation.
• Knowledge of high-level programming like Python, VB, C# etc.
• Basics of communication protocols – Modbus (RS-485, TCP/IP) and MQTT
• Know-how on AI/ML/RPA/API.
• Design of hydraulic & pneumatic control systems.
• Knowledge of different types of welding and other fabrication processes.
• Vendor development and coordination with vendor for technical assessment & development including legal aspects like IP protection etc.
