Grinder

Job description

JSW Steel USA is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Grinder to support our manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities

Operate grinding, lapping, honing, deburring, shearing, and cutting equipment according to specifications. Set up machines by computing indexing and adjusting controls for required dimensions. Lift and position workpieces manually or with hoists; securely fasten materials to machine tables. Mount and align tools in chucks, spindles, and other holding devices using hand tools. Monitor machine operations and make adjustments to ensure product quality and efficiency.

Inspect finished products to ensure conformance with specifications. Maintain adequate inventory of machine parts and tooling. Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs; escalate complex issues to engineering as needed. Thread and hand-feed materials through machine cutters or abraders. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED. Minimum six (6) months of surface grinding experience preferred. Ability to accurately read and use tape measures and other measuring tools. Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail. Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Ability to lift up to 50lbs materials and stand for extended periods.
