Johnson Controls, a global leader in thermal management, mission-critical building systems, energy efficiency, and decarbonization, helps customers use energy more productively, reduce carbon emissions, and operate with the precision and resilience required in rapidly expanding industries such as data centers, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, advanced manufacturing, and higher education. For more than 140 years, Johnson Controls has delivered performance where it really matters.

Backed by advanced technology, lifecycle services and an industry-leading field organization, we elevate customer performance, turn goals into real-world results and help move society forward.

Role Overview

The Sr Process Engineer drives improvements across manufacturing workflows, tooling, process documentation, and production support activities. You will use data, structured problem-solving, and hands-on collaboration to identify bottlenecks, improve quality and productivity, and support continuous improvement initiatives across the plant. What will you do? Design, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes to improve productivity, quality, and efficiency.

Analyze workflows, identify bottlenecks, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement solutions. Develop and maintain process documentation, including workflows, standard operating procedures, PFMEA, BOMs, and ECNs. Support process improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, Six Sigma, and A3 problem-solving methods. Monitor process performance using data analysis, process capability thinking, and structured reporting.

Oversee maintenance routines and support TPM implementation to improve equipment reliability and process stability. Support tooling validation, process changes, and cost-saving initiatives. Partner with production, quality, maintenance, and engineering teams to resolve issues and sustain improvements. Contribute to workstation layout, equipment justification, specification, and installation activities when required. Support new product introduction and process readiness activities across the manufacturing floor.

How will you do it? Take ownership of outcomes with safety, integrity, and accountability while making decisions that protect people, quality, and production performance. Stay close to the work by working alongside operators and support teams to understand constraints and remove barriers quickly. Use facts, data, and root-cause analysis to solve problems, validate improvements, and strengthen process stability. Improve every day through candor, disciplined follow-up, and a continuous-improvement mindset.

Win as one team by collaborating across functions, listening to different perspectives, and aligning on shared goals. What are we looking for? Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronic Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field. 5+ years of experience in process engineering or a similar role within a manufacturing environment. Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data analysis and process optimization methods to drive results.

Experience with BOMs, ECNs, PFMEA, and other process improvement tools. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, Six Sigma, TPM, and structured problem-solving approaches. Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment and communicate effectively across functions.

Nice to Have

Experience in HVAC, automotive, or other discrete manufacturing environments. Exposure to sheet metal fabrication, assembly processes, automation, or equipment installation projects. Experience with ERP/MRP systems, SPC, process capability analysis, or FMEA-related improvement work. What do we offer? Comprehensive benefits package. Opportunities for professional growth and development. Supportive and inclusive work environment.

Commitment to work-life balance and employee well-being. Engagement in meaningful projects that make a difference.
