Position Overview

We are seeking an Analyst to join our Jefferies Equities Data & Intelligence (JEDI) team. The successful candidate will play a key role in building and maintaining the quantitative and data infrastructure that powers our trading operations, partnering closely with traders, sector strategists, and technology teams to deliver scalable, high-performance solutions. This role is ideal for an energetic, and analytically minded individual looking to apply quantitative skills in a live trading environment, and who thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain scalable trading infrastructure observability platforms to support real-time monitoring and operational reliability Design and implement robust data pipelines to automate the ingestion, cleansing, and storage of large-scale, real-time datasets — including market data and alternative data sources. Identify, develop, and implement automated quantitative strategies in collaboration with traders Contribute to the continuous improvement of flow monitoring and analytical tooling Incorporate AI in workflow automation and content generation for internal use and client-facing commentaries Uphold the highest professional standards and represent Jefferies’ culture of integrity, teamwork, and client‑focused execution.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field. Proficiency in Python and/or C++; experience with data manipulation libraries (pandas, NumPy). Hands-on experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MSSQL, or Oracle. Proficiency in Linux/Unix environments and command-line tooling. Familiarity with core cybersecurity concepts (TLS/SSL, hashing, encryption, authentication) Solid understanding of financial markets, instruments, and trading concepts.

Familiarity with financial data platforms such as Bloomberg or Refinitiv is a plus. Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced, high-volume trading environment with tight deadlines. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail. Excellent communication skills with the ability to present technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Highly organized and capable of managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
