Role The Tax Counsel & Advisory group seeks a highly motivated individual who will support various front office business units and assist with research and planning.

Responsibilities include: Assist with domestic and international planning. Support various front office business units, including analyzing and structuring transactions, drafting legal documentation and memoranda, advising on reputational risk, and advising senior business leaders on tax matters. Assist with transfer pricing strategy, planning and defense. Analyze new products and business lines for tax issues. Advise on information reporting and withholding matters relating to the firm’s brokerage businesses.

Advise on tax matters related to the firm’s joint ventures and merchant banking portfolio. Advise on new tax legislation and guidance that may impact the Firm. Advise on IRS audit matters. Advise on tax equity/clean energy investments. Assist with additional ad-hoc projects as they arise.

Qualifications

JD with at least four years of relevant experience at a major law firm or accounting firm. Experience in taxation of financial products, U.S. international tax, subchapter C, tax equity and U.S. information reporting. Ability to learn new areas and concepts quickly. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to build, develop and maintain solid working relationships throughout various businesses and corporate departments.

Primary Location

New York Full Time Salary Range of $200,000-$225,000 #LI-MB1
