- Design, implement and deploy enhancements to HSBC's electronic trading platform
- Support and optimize what you and your colleagues have built
- Collaborate with software engineers in other time zones
- Reduce toil and repetitive tasks by automation
- Solid hands-on experience with software engineering of low-latency or real-time systems Excellent Java proficiency required, including concurrency, tuning, and memory management Good command of Linux/UNIX command line interface Using agentic AI for software maintenance Experience with container runtimes (Podman, Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes)
- Familiarity with message passing systems such as Kafka and Aeron Practicing data-driven optimizations (profiling, metrics collection) Working-knowledge of CI/CD techniques
