Platform Solutions, a division of Goldman Sachs, is seeking a Vice President to lead and scale our Payments Operations team in India. The Payments team is critical to safeguarding customer trust and platform integrity by governing money movement, managing complex payment remediation, and maintaining operational control across lending and credit card products. As a Vice President, you will provide strategic direction, operational leadership, and end-to-end governance for regional and global payment functions.
You will oversee the remediation of payment exceptions, drive automation and workflow modernization, and manage risk and control frameworks across multiple payment rails. In this role, you will act as a senior regional leader partnering closely with global counterparts across Engineering, Treasury, Legal, Compliance, Product Controllers, and Credit Delivery Solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Team Management Lead, mentor, and inspire a multi-tiered operations organization (including managers, associates, and analysts), establishing clear OKRs, performance benchmarks, and succession plans. Champion an inclusive, high-performance, and motivating team culture focused on continuous development and operational excellence. Represent India Payments Operations in global governance meetings, steering committees, and business reviews.
Payment Operations & Financial Control Governance Drive end-to-end operational oversight of critical payment rails, including ACH, Fedwire, Wires, Check/Lockbox, and Bill Pay, supporting consumer lending and credit card product lifecycles. Own the books and records integrity by establishing stringent reconciliation frameworks; govern suspense account risks, investigate systemic breaks, and enforce strict ledger-posting standards.
Ensure strict adherence to service-level agreements (SLAs), managing critical daily settlement and cutoff deadlines with 100% operational resilience. Risk, Controls & Regulatory Oversight Ensure operations strictly comply with US consumer banking regulations and frameworks, including Reg Z, Reg O, Reg V, Reg E, TILA, ECOA, and CFPB guidelines. Design, enhance, and maintain a proactive Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) framework, anticipating failure points and preventing control breakdowns.
Lead audit preparedness and regulatory examinations; drive comprehensive root-cause analysis and remediation for audit findings and operational losses. Operational Transformation & Metrics Drive strategic automation, digitalization, and process optimization initiatives using modern analytics tools to eliminate manual casework and enable scalable volume growth. Define, track, and synthesize key performance indicators (KPIs) and key risk indicators (KRIs) into actionable executive dashboards for senior business leadership.
Act as the final regional escalation point for high-severity payment breaks, customer remediation casework, and complex money movement inquiries.
