Supervisor (Construction)

Job description

In this role you will be responsible for: The incumbent will report to the Project Construction Superintendent and be responsible for all functions relating to the position Supervisor (Construction), the role’s purpose is to supervise the construction team and participate in tasks to deliver quality results within a specified timeframe for construction targets. Duties would include but not limited to be accountable for the control and coordination of the specific area of production and civil construction duties of the team.

Compliance with the company’s HSEC system is essential Ensuring implementation of management decisions, legal requirements, and the company standards/policies.

About you

Grade 12 Formal Civil and/or building works related qualification will be an advantage. Training certificates in civil and building works would be advantageous. At least 5 - 10 years’ previous experience in the construction industry dealing with earthworks, civils, structural, mechanical and piping installations. Must have ability to read and understand civil reinforcing schedules, structural and piping drawings. Have experience with structural erection.

Have experience with HDPE and Steel piping fabrication and installations. Have working at heights experience. Must have construction safety experience to complete risk assessments Must have experience to coach and upskilling team members in HSEC systems and procedures Computer Literacy. Valid driver’s licence and own transport (willing to travel between sites). Must be a team player and be able to work well with others. Candidate to have good interpersonal skills (good communication skills) Ability to function independently.

Must be prepared to work overtime if required. Medically fit to work on a construction site
