Senior DCS Engineer Glencore's McArthur River Mine (MRM) is a world-class zinc-lead mine with a strong future. Located in the Gulf of Carpentaria, approximately 900 km southeast of Darwin and 64 km from Borroloola, MRM operates a large-scale open-cut mine producing zinc, lead and silver.

About the Role

Reporting to the Superintendent Electrical, Glencore are seeking a motivated Control Systems Engineer to oversee and optimise the reliability, performance and integration of our process control systems, production management systems and site-wide IT/OT network infrastructure. Working across our processing facilities, including the Port Facility, you’ll play a key role in improving plant performance, reducing downtime and delivering continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and maintain the reliability and performance of Yokogawa Centum VP DCS, Allen-Bradley PLCs and associated control systems. Administer and optimise the Ampla production management system, ensuring data integrity, reporting accuracy and effective integration with plant systems. Manage site IT/OT communications and industrial networks, ensuring secure, reliable and effective integration. Lead control system optimisation and continuous improvement projects to enhance plant reliability, throughput and operational performance.

Provide technical support, troubleshooting and fault-finding expertise to maintenance and operations teams. Provide technical input into capital projects, system design reviews and risk assessments. Ensure compliance with site safety requirements, electrical standards and Glencore cybersecurity policies.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have: A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or similar. Experience in process control systems, including DCS and PLC platforms. Knowledge of industrial networking, communications protocols and IT/OT infrastructure. Strong troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills. A proactive approach to continuous improvement, reliability and asset performance. A commitment to safety, collaboration and technical development.

Experience with Yokogawa Centum VP, Allen-Bradley PLCs, Ampla or industrial cybersecurity would be highly regarded.
