At Ford, we build what matters, grow where it counts, and drive progress with heart. Whether you are collaborating at our state-of-the-art Global Technology and Business Center (GTBC) or manufacturing iconic, award-winning vehicles in our world-class plants, you will find a culture evolving together, built on trust, passion, and shared purpose.

Here, your work moves people forward, and your growth is personal. Join us, and let’s build what’s next together.

Responsibilities

In this position... Product Development uses design thinking and user experience methods to deliver breakthrough products and services that delight our customers. We bring innovative, exciting, and sustainable ideas to life, contributing to advancements in autonomy, electrification, smart mobility technologies, and more. As a Brake Controls Hardware Engineer, you will directly influence vehicle safety, performance, and driver confidence across global vehicle lines.

You will own the end-to-end design, packaging, and release of mission-critical safety hardware—such as anti-lock brake modules, electronic stability control, and electronic brake boosters. In this role, you will bridge the gap between concept and production, collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams and external partners to deliver robust, high-quality chassis control solutions that protect and inspire drivers worldwide.

Qualifications

What you'll do... Lead the end-to-end design, packaging, and release of brake control modules and mounting hardware across global vehicle platforms, ensuring full compliance with international safety standards (e.g., FMVSS). Oversee Computer-Aided Design (CAD) models, bill of materials (BOM) structures, mass attribute analysis, and manufacturing feasibility studies, including draft angle, clearance, and bend radius checks.

Partner with external suppliers throughout the full product development lifecycle, guiding technical delivery, component integration, quality, and program timing. Conduct Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and functional safety assessments (ISO 26262) to proactively resolve design risks and establish mitigation strategies. Collaborate closely with Electrical, Powertrain, and Vehicle Systems teams to define hardware interfaces, network communications (CAN), and integration requirements.

Coordinate and support component-level, rig, Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL), and vehicle-level validation testing to verify system performance and functionality. You'll have... Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience. Typically 3 to 5 years of engineering experience in chassis, braking, or powertrain control systems design and development.

Proficiency in automotive Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools (such as CATIA, Siemens NX, Teamcenter, or 3DEXPERIENCE). Working knowledge of vehicle network architectures (such as CAN/CAN-FD) and electrical hardware interfaces. Even better, you may have... Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical discipline. Hands-on experience with quality and reliability methodologies, including Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA), Design for Manufacturing (DFM), and structured problem-solving frameworks (e.g., 8D, Six Sigma).

Experience leading technical supplier management and cost optimization initiatives. Familiarity with functional safety standards (ISO 26262) and automotive safety certification processes. Ford of Mexico is committed to being an equal opportunity employer. We believe that a diverse and inclusive workplace is essential to our success. We do not discriminate based on race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, pregnancy, veteran status, or disability status.

Our focus is to build the best team. If you think you can bring value to Ford, love to collaborate, prioritize and aim to deliver excellence in everything you do, we encourage you to apply! We thank all candidates for their interest, but only those selected for an interview will be contacted. #LI-ET1 #FordMexico
