Overall

Job Purpose

The Production Engineer is responsible for a wide range of operational tasks including performance reviews, reporting and improvement projects across mining the mining departments. The role constantly monitors operation efficiencies and works with all departments to optimize the production process through projects and implantation of relevant initiatives. Specific Job Responsibility The specific tasks to be performed by the position holder will include; Work with the optimization team to develop, implement and monitor business improvements.

Actively seek to develop new ideas and initiatives that have the potential to provide the company with efficiency, cost reduction and productivity opportunities. Support technical, production, safety, training, services, commercial and maintenance teams with reporting and projects. Develop and maintain safe and effective work practices and procedures throughout. Any other tasks as may be delegated upon by the supervisor.

Job Specific Competencies

Advanced Proficiency in Excel, Word, Power Point. Familiar with SQL, data management and reporting. Competent with basic Surpac or similar CAD Application Competent at engineering analysis Report writing Key Job Attributes Great Problem Solving skills Inventive/Creativity Determined Confident and competent presenter An analytical mind Detail Orientated Problem Solving Professionalism Must possess Excellent communication skills Ability to multi-task Must be an active listener Must be a good team player Ability to make precise judgment and decisions Must be able to effectively manage time Must be smart self-driven Experience required to perform in this job At least 3 years’ mining related experience.

Prior Pit planning Experience Qualifications Full Grade 12 Certificate
