Job description

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be: Independently design and develop electronic hardware for Industrial Applications such as Electric Actuators. Design analog, digital, and mixed ‑ signal circuits including microcontroller systems, sensor interfaces, power supplies, and signal conditioning. Translate subsystem requirements into robust, manufacturable hardware designs. Lead in schematic design, component selection, PCB layout, tolerance stack ‑ up, and routing considerations.

Perform prototype hardware start ‑ up, debugging, and functional/performance validation. Conduct detailed analysis and resolution of hardware issues during development and testing phases. Ensure designs comply with EMI / EMC, safety, and environmental requirements by following established best practices. Work closely with firmware, mechanical, and test teams to ensure integrated system-level solutions. Support interaction with suppliers, contract manufacturers, and test labs for prototype and pilot builds.

Mentor junior engineers in hardware design practices, debugging techniques, and documentation. Actively participate in technical reviews, design discussions, and knowledge sharing. Communicate progress, risks, and technical challenges to the Technical Lead periodically.

For This Role, You Will Need

BE / Equivalent in Industrial Electronics / Electronics and Telecommunication with 8 to 12 years of experience in Electronics Hardware Design and Development. Strong hands ‑ on expertise in analog and digital circuit design. Proven experience in microcontroller-based designs, sensor interfacing, ADCs/DACs, and low ‑ noise signal conditioning. Good understanding of control electronics, signal integrity, grounding, and isolation techniques.

Experience with communication protocols such as SPI, I2C, CAN, RS485, RS232, Ethernet, or USB. Hands ‑ on experience with AC/DC power supplies, SMPS, and DC ‑ DC converter designs. Ability to take designs from schematic capture to working prototypes, following structured processes from requirements specification, design guidelines, and PCB layout to DFM / DFT, collaborating effectively with mechanical and firmware teams across global locations.

Solid understanding of EMI / EMC and safety compliance requirements. Proficiency in using lab equipment for independent debugging and validation. Ability to work effectively with cross ‑ functional and global teams. Strong documentation and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart

Experience in industrial or automation product development. Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (e.g., HART, Modbus, Ethernet based, Profibus, Wireless (such as Bluetooth, LoRaWAN) etc.). Experience with low-power embedded systems and battery management. Experience supporting manufacturing, pilot builds, and product launch activities. Mentoring or technical guidance experience for junior engineers. Our Offer To You By joining Emerson, you will be given the opportunity to make a difference through the work you do.
