Position Summary

As a Commercial Transport Technician / Truck and Transport Technician, you will perform diagnostics, repairs, inspections, and preventative maintenance on a diverse range of commercial vehicles and equipment. Completes diagnostics, repairs and rebuilds on engine products in a service workshop under limited supervision

What You'll Do

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair diesel engines and vehicle systems
• Perform complex mechanical repairs following documented procedures and manufacturer standards
• Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and services
• Complete Commercial Vehicle Inspection Program (CVIP) inspections where licensed

Repair and maintain

• Heavy-duty and medium-duty trucks
• Transit buses
• Highway trucks and commercial vehicles
• Fire trucks
• Construction equipment
• Trailers
• RVs
• Generators
• Various commercial and industrial equipment
• Accurately complete work orders, inspection reports, warranty documentation, and timesheets
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures
• Participate in an on-call emergency service rotation as required
• Support and mentor junior technicians when applicable
• In order to be successful in this role you will need the following:
• Completes complex internal engine repairs
• Performs engine overhauls unassisted
• Detailed understanding of the aftertreatment system and components
• Proficient experience with engine diagnostic software

Qualifications Required

• Red Seal Truck and Transport Technician Certification
• Valid CVIP Licenses
• Valid driver's license
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
• Experience performing bumper-to-bumper repairs on commercial vehicles
• Commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and customer satisfaction Preferred
• Class 3 Driver's License
• Experience with trailer repair
• Experience working on Cummins engines
• OEM dealership experience
• Experience servicing generators, RVs, and industrial equipment
• Work Schedule – Four 10-hour shifts per week - Wednesday to Saturday 7am to 5:30pm
