Job Summary

Technical specialist and primary customer support contact to diagnose and execute complex repairs to engine products at the customer’s site. We are looking for a talented Field Service Diesel Technician/Mechanic to join our Distribution business in (Downey, CA). We offer, relocation, competitive pay and benefits!

Will make an impact in the following ways

• Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop
• Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools
• Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles
• Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies
• Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products
• Maintain own tools In order to be successful in this role you will need the following:
• Completes complex internal engine repairs
• Performs complex unassisted engine overhauls
• Ability to troubleshoot with limited/no support from diagnostic tools
• Detailed understanding of the aftertreatment system and components
• Mentor junior technicians including technical support and documentation
• Minimum 5 yrs experience
• Knowledge of Cummins Engines and repair practices >Engine knowledge includes Diesel, Nat Gas and EV products
• Knowledge of Cummins warranty policies and procedures
• Computer literate (Insite, QSOL, MS Office, Teams, Accelera)
• Ability to communicate detailed troubleshooting and repair results both internal and external - A current valid license is required for this role
• Must be 18 years old with 2 years driving experience
• This role requires a 5-year motor vehicle report, free from major violations
• This position is subject to Federal Transit Administration random and pre-employment drug testing requirements. This roll will be subject to on-going random drug and alcohol testing. - A CDL may be required to obtain upon hire
• Federal law requires a CDL holder to be 21 years of age or older

Education, Licenses, Certifications

Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred) Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution Locally valid driving permit This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience

Significant field service work experience Expert level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products Customer service experience Experience providing technical advice and coaching to more junior technicians (preferred)

Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
