Total Loss, Senior Auto Claims Examiner

Job description

The primary responsibility of the Total Loss Adjuster is to investigate, evaluate, and resolve automobile total loss claims for personal and commercial lines in a timely, customer-focused, and compliant manner, while also managing rental expenses, salvage disposal, and other applicable coverages. Ensuring the delivery of timely and superior customer service through the daily total loss claims handling. Ensuring adherence to salvage requirements per state guidelines & effectively manage the negotiations of upfront storage fees and rental expenses.

Effectively investigating claims, reserving evaluation and resolution of claims Effectively control the use, work product and expenses of outside vendors Develop and maintain strong business relationships with internal and external customers Actively participate in committees and task force projects

Qualifications

High level of expertise in all aspects of claims adjusting to include total loss handling and total loss salvage/compliance requirements. Extensive knowledge of contracts, investigation techniques, legal requirements, and regulations. Ability to work effectively with a wide variety of people. An aptitude for evaluating, analyzing, and interpreting information. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. An ability to work well in teams.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience Minimum 5 years of insurance claims experience Comprehensive understanding of Auto clam handling If you do not already have one, you will be required to obtain an applicable resident or designated home state adjusters license and possibly additional state licensure.
