Purchasing Supervisor (Cost Control)

Job description

Position Summary

Responsible for driving cost reduction initiatives, managing supplier sourcing activities, and ensuring cost-effective procurement strategies while maintaining supply continuity and supplier performance.

Key Responsibilities

Identify and lead cost reduction projects to achieve annual savings targets. Manage RFQ/RFP processes, supplier selection, and commercial negotiations. Conduct cost analysis and benchmarking to optimize procurement expenses. Develop and manage supplier performance, including corrective actions for underperforming suppliers. Mitigate supply risks through sourcing strategies, safety stock, buffer stock, and VMI programs. Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain teams to support sourcing and cost improvement initiatives.

Drive continuous improvement in procurement processes and supplier competitiveness. Supervise and develop team members to achieve departmental objectives.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field. Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Strategic Sourcing, Purchasing, Procurement, or Supplier Development within a manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of sourcing, RFQ management, cost analysis, negotiation, and supplier management. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
