ABOUT THE ROLEWe are looking for a highly experienced Backend Platform Engineer to join a team supporting a large-scale conversational and integration platform operating in a complex enterprise environment.This is not a traditional feature-development role. The primary focus is on maintaining platform reliability, investigating complex production issues, and supporting a highly distributed ecosystem of services, integrations, and data flows.You will work in an environment where rare and difficult-to-reproduce production anomalies can occur across multiple interconnected services.

Success in this role requires deep expertise in NestJS, Redis, and distributed systems, combined with strong ownership and problem-solving skills.

Budapest, Hungary (Hybrid)This position follows a hybrid working model with 1 day per week onsite presence in Budapest. We are currently considering applicants who are based in Hungary and eligible to work in Hungary.YOU WILLSupport and maintain business-critical backend services built with Node.js, NestJS, and RedisInvestigate complex production incidents, perform root cause analysis, and drive issues through resolutionAnalyze logs, traces, monitoring data, and application behavior to diagnose system anomaliesTroubleshoot distributed systems, microservices, integrations, and high-volume data flowsSupport and optimize

Redis-based workloads, caching strategies, and platform performanceCollaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure reliability, operational excellence, and continuous improvementParticipate in on-call rotations and communicate incident impact and resolution plans to stakeholdersContribute to knowledge sharing, observability improvements, and platform stability initiativesYOU HAVEStrong hands-on experience with TypeScript, Node.js, NestJS, and RedisExperience designing, operating, and troubleshooting microservice-based architecturesProven experience supporting production systems and managing live incidentsStrong debugging, root cause analysis, and problem-solving skillsExperience with REST API integrations and distributed systemsExperience working with cloud platforms (preferably GCP)Knowledge of monitoring, logging, and observability practicesAbility to work independently in complex environments with limited documentationStrong communication skills and the ability to explain technical issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
