Responsibilities

Reporting to an Open Pit Maintenance Supervisor, the Open Pit Maintenance Technician is responsible for the following.

• Complete routine maintenance activities for the purpose of ensuring the availability and safe functioning of large mining, support equipment fleets
• Maintain shop areas, tooling and service vehicles to ensure a clean and safe work environment
• Perform daily pre-shift work inspections and participate in individual and group hazard identification processes
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Two (2) plus years of experience in maintenance of mobile, farm, trucking, aircraft, military or support equipment preferred Basic knowledge of mechanics, hydraulics, and pneumatics required

• Ability to work safely and effectively with minimal supervision required
• Ability to interact and communicate effectively with a wide variety of people required Experience handling tires preferred
• Ability to accomplish strenuous physical labor under all weather conditions required
• Lift at least 50 lbs. required
• Proven safe work record with belief and value seen in courageous leadership model required
