The successful candidate will assist in developing and guiding projects to support short and long term mine plans. Responsibilities

• Strong understanding and experience with open pit blasting techniques and controls Hands-on experience with data collection and assessment of rock mass and rock defect strength properties
• Strong understanding of stiff soil properties, anisotropy and effects on slope design Working competence in Rocscience suite of surface stability software programs Understanding of 3-D geologic model inputs and development, and impacts on slope stability Experience with bench scale and inter-ramp scale slope design compliance
• Must be able to work in a team environment Clear and concise communication and liaison skills with various personnel levels Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Geological Engineering or related field required 3-5 years hands-on geotechnical experience at an active open pit mine site preferred
