Senior Director – Reinsurance Location: Shenzhen

Job Overview

In this senior reinsurance broker role, you will drive growth and lead market strategies across South China. You will be responsible for business development, managing client portfolios, leading account strategies, and overseeing the execution of complex reinsurance placements across all lines of business.

Key Responsibilities

Business Strategy & Revenue Growth Drive business development and strategic growth initiatives across South China, identifying new market opportunities and expanding Aon’s client portfolio. Lead relationship-building strategies for prospective and key existing clients, acting as a trusted advisor to senior executives and risk managers. Proactively monitor market dynamics and regulatory changes in South China, translating emerging trends into actionable business strategies.

Portfolio & Client Account Management Oversee key client accounts, serving as the principal point of contact for strategic reinsurance advisory, treaty structures, and specialty solutions. Conduct high-level counterpart engagements to collect client feedback, understand strategic risk transfer goals, and deliver customized reinsurance solutions. Direct the creation of high-impact advisory proposals, client presentations, and market intelligence reports.

Placement & Market Execution Lead end-to-end reinsurance placement processes for complex treaty and specialty programs, ensuring optimal terms, pricing, and coverage for clients. Negotiate with global and regional reinsurers, building and leveraging strong market relationships to optimize placement capacity. Supervise and mentor junior team members, overseeing data verification, slip drafting, placement reporting, and operational execution to maintain high service standards.

Brand Leadership & Market Engagement Represent Aon Reinsurance at major industry events, client seminars, and market forums to enhance brand visibility and thought leadership in South China.

Key Qualifications

7–10+ years of experience in Reinsurance, Underwriting, or Risk Advisory, with proven expertise in the reinsurance industry. Demonstrated track record in business development, revenue generation, and client relationship management in the South China market. Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and negotiation skills. Excellent command of written and spoken English and Mandarin. 2587007
