Job description

Redefine how ads become a personalized, inspiring part of the customer journey — applying Generative AI and Large Language Models to transform advertising experiences across Amazon's shopping surfaces at massive scale. You'll build hyper-scale online systems, offline data pipelines, and machine learning infrastructure that power ad experiences beyond Search for hundreds of millions of shoppers.

The Off-Search team within Sponsored Products and Brands (SPB) builds delightful ad experiences across surfaces beyond Search — product detail pages, the homepage, and store-in-store pages. We deliver highly personalized, context-aware advertising that adapts to individual shopper preferences, scales across diverse page types, and integrates seamlessly with organic recommendations. We operate full stack — from backend ads-retail edge services, ad retrieval, and ad auctions to shopper-facing experiences — all designed to deliver meaningful value.

You'll have the opportunity to transform core areas like ad retrieval, ad allocation, whole-page relevance, and differentiated recommendations by designing globally scalable solutions that evolve in the right long-term direction while delivering iterative value to customers.

Key job responsibilities

- Apply Generative AI (GenAI) and Large Language Models (LLMs) to deliver more relevant, personalized ad and shopping experiences across Amazon surfaces

- Design, develop, and operate large-scale distributed systems for Sponsored Products and Brands advertising

- Build and optimize data pipelines and services that improve ad retrieval, allocation, whole-page relevance, and differentiated recommendations

- Design globally scalable solutions that evolve in the right long-term direction while delivering iterative value to customers

- Collaborate with applied scientists, product managers, and engineers to define and deliver customer-focused solutions end to end

- Write high-quality, maintainable code and participate in design and code reviews

- Drive operational excellence through monitoring, automation, and continuous improvement

A day in the life

You'll help build hyper-scale online systems, offline data pipelines, and machine learning infrastructure — leveraging GenAI and LLMs to transform how ads are retrieved, allocated, and experienced. You'll have the opportunity to redesign how ads contribute to a personalized, relevant, and inspirational shopping experience, with the customer value proposition at the forefront.
